The third day of this brutal Death event was wrapped in drizzle, a disappointing contrast to the sunny day before. One would expect the mood to be minor but nothing of that all. Instead we were struck by a sultry atmosphere in the rows in front of the stage. Similar to the high energy interaction between bands and audience that you find in a closed club, on a good night.
And a good night it was, defintely. The music was very loud and heavy and produced by a long row of giants in this style. We immortalized Inhumate (FRA) whose frontman was cutting capers without any reservation. The Rotted (UK) had their 2011 premiere on this stage, after having worked on their latest album that is due next October. Frontman Ben Mc Craw was attacked to his surprise, by a pineapple, while singing, on stage. He amazed us by keeping on singing despite lying helpless and conquered on the floor. The remainder of the night's program was filled with serious business, by Krisiun (BRA) and Vader (POL). These bands are performing night after night for years and have developped a routine that knows no match. The German metallers of Morgoth were serving a taste for old school Death and Misery Index (USA) were a solid final act to this exquisite annual festival in an outskirt of Germany.
